Overview
The APAN Fellowship Program offers a unique platform for
students and early-career researchers to engage in the Asia Pacific Advanced
Network (APAN) meetings. Building on the success of the APAN60 Fellowship
Program, which welcomed 18 fellows from 14 economies, we are pleased to
announce that applications are now open for the APAN61 Fellowship Program. The
61st APAN Meeting will be hosted from 26–30 January 2026 in Dhaka,
Bangladesh.
Fellowship Details and Eligibility
· Full details on criteria and selection
procedures are available at:
· Applications are encouraged from graduate
and undergraduate students, as well as young researchers.
· Applicants
presenting at APAN61 will receive priority consideration. Please note
that presenting at APAN61 requires a separate submission under the Call for
Presentation Proposals (to be issued later). Selection for fellowship does
not guarantee acceptance as a presenter — both processes are managed
independently.
Fellowship Coverage
The fellowship includes:
·
Registration
Fee – Access to all
sessions, workshops, and tutorials.
·
Food – Lunch, tea during the conference,
and two social dinners.
·
Per-Diem
Allowances
– Covers airport-to-venue transport, breakfast, and remaining dinners. This may
include a transport allowance from the international airport to accommodation
(and vice versa) or other ground transportation and uncovered meals during the
meeting.
·
Accommodation – Twin-sharing basis with breakfast
during APAN61 (venue to be notified to successful applicants).
If you plan to arrange your own accommodation at your own
cost, you must notify the APAN Secretariat at least one month in advance to
avoid non-refund of the accommodation allowance. Please do not request a single room or specific roommates, or make independent
bookings without notification, as this disrupts planning.
Important Airfare Requirements
·
Airfare
is NOT covered under the fellowship program.
· Applicants
must provide proof of airfare support (from their institution/organisation or
self-funded) at the time of application. Without this letter, applications will
be immediately rejected.
·
If
you are self-funding your airfare, you may be required to submit a confirmed
itinerary upon fellowship acceptance.
·
We
strongly advise checking flight availability and approvals before applying to
avoid last-minute cancellations, which disrupt the selection process.
Attendance Commitment
·
Fellows
must be available for the entire week of 26–30 January 2026, with attendance on
the first day being mandatory.
·
Except
during official APAN social events, fellows are responsible for their own
dinner expenses.
·
Applicants
with prior no-shows without notice will be automatically rejected under the
Blacklisting Policy.
We look forward to
receiving your applications and welcoming another outstanding group of APAN
Fellows in Dhaka.
